Pittsburgh Family Law Attorney Robert D. Raver Named to Best Lawyers in America 2027

  • August 24, 2026
  • Uncategorized

PITTSBURGH — Robert D. Raver, founding partner of Raver Rawlings Law Group PLLC, has been named to The Best Lawyers in America® 2027 in the practice area of Family Law.

Attorneys on The Best Lawyers in America list are divided by geographic region and practice area, evaluated by their peers on the basis of professional ability, and verified to be in current practice and in good standing with their bar association. Best Lawyers has used the same peer-review methodology, which it calls Purely Peer Review®, for more than forty years. Recognition is based entirely on confidential evaluations submitted by attorneys already recognized in the publication.

Because the survey is organized by practice area and region, those evaluations come from attorneys already recognized in Best Lawyers who practice family law in the same market. Nominees join the voting pool only after being recognized themselves. The listing therefore reflects the judgment of colleagues who know the work and the profession.

“This is an individual listing, but the work behind it was not individual,” said Attorney Raver. “Every matter that produced it was prepared and staffed by our attorneys and our staff. I would rather it be read as a measure of the quality of the work we do here.”

Attorney Raver has practiced family law nearly exclusively since 2012. His practice concentrates on complex and high-asset matters, including closely held business valuation, executive and deferred compensation, non-marital tracing, and dissipation of marital assets. He also handles custody and protection from abuse matters involving abuse, coercive control, and intimate partner violence, along with cases involving parental alienation.

Much of that work turns on how income from a closely held business is treated. The same earnings can be capitalized to value the business as a marital asset and then counted again as income available for support. Identifying that double count can materially change a support obligation.

Attorney Raver serves on the Council of the Pennsylvania Bar Association Family Law Section and on the Allegheny County Bar Association Family Law Section Council, and was appointed to the Joint State Government Commission’s Advisory Committee, which studies and recommends changes to Pennsylvania family law. He served five years as Articles and Comments Co-Editor of the Pennsylvania Family Lawyer and has presented more than twenty continuing legal education programs for the Pennsylvania Bar Association, the Pennsylvania Bar Institute, and the Allegheny and Butler County Bar Associations.
