PITTSBURGH — Robert D. Raver, founding partner of Raver Rawlings Law Group PLLC, has been appointed Adjunct Professor of Family Law at the Thomas R. Kline School of Law of Duquesne University, beginning with the fall 2026 semester. Attorney Raver will teach Family Law in the J.D. curriculum. He graduated from Duquesne in 2012 and served as a judge for the school’s first-year oral arguments from 2012 through 2017. The appointment continues a teaching record that runs the length of his career. He served five years as Articles and Comments Co-Editor of the Pennsylvania Family Lawyer, the publication of the Pennsylvania Bar Association Family Law Section, and has presented more than twenty continuing legal education programs for the Pennsylvania Bar Association, the Pennsylvania Bar Institute, and the Allegheny and Butler County Bar Associations. From 2013 through 2018 he co-authored and taught Tax Aspects of Separation and Divorce, a continuing education course for accountants and attorneys. “My aim is for students to finish the course understanding how the pieces operate together on an actual file, and why counsel makes the choices they do at each stage. A student who understands that framework, and has some sense of where it is heading, will not be lost at the beginning of a career. We will also work through what is pending before the legislature, because this area changes quickly, and I would like the course to hold their attention while we do it.” Attorney Raver has practiced family law nearly exclusively since 2012.
